THE EXPERIENCE
Discover Al Siniyah Island
Al Siniyah Island preserves archaeological evidence of earlier coastal communities in Umm Al Quwain. The UAE National Cultural Map identifies its monastery as the first discovered in the emirate and describes a church, water storage and domestic spaces. Official archaeological reporting also discusses the island's pearling-town remains.
These are sensitive research sites. The reviewed official sources do not establish a current walk-in visitor or public landing schedule. Ask the tourism and archaeology authority or an authorised excursion operator whether a permitted visit is available for your dates.
Distinguish a boat trip past the island from a shore landing and from access to the excavations. Ask which experience is actually offered before booking transport. If archaeological entry is not available, the island's research can still provide context for a confirmed museum visit.
Follow the authorised route on any arranged visit, leave fragments in place and keep out of excavation zones.
