This notice describes uaetravelguide.ae, published and operated by The Web Makers LLC. The earlier Sites address forwards visitors to the corresponding page on this domain.

Search and browsing

The header search downloads an attraction catalogue and matches your search in your browser. It does not transmit the words you type to a search provider or put them in the URL. Emirate directory filters also run locally, but their search and filter values appear in the URL. Those values may appear in browser history, links you share, or hosting requests when you reopen that URL.

There are no visitor accounts, newsletter registration or ticket checkout. The advertising enquiry form prepares a draft for you to send through your chosen app. We do not ask for payment-card details or passport information.

Shortlists and browser storage

Saving an attraction stores its identifier in your browser's local storage under an emirate-specific key such as dubai-guide-shortlist-v1. The guide does not transmit your shortlist to the publisher. Remove individual entries, choose “Clear shortlist”, or clear this site's browser data to remove it. Without storage, selections last only for the current page session. There is no account backup.

Shortlist local storage is distinct from a cookie. We also store your optional analytics choice locally for up to 180 days; if storage is unavailable, the choice lasts for the current page. You can change it through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Choosing essential features only does not disable your shortlist or search.

Hosting and technical requests

Hosting infrastructure may process your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time to deliver the site, maintain security and troubleshoot requests. With your permission, the guide uses Google Analytics as described below. Shortlist data is not sent to Analytics. Contact us about information associated with a request.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, traffic sources, broad location, devices and engagement. With analytics permission, we also measure labelled banner clicks and the send-channel action on an advertising enquiry. The Google tag is blocked until you choose “Allow analytics”; choosing “Essential only” keeps optional Analytics off. No Google Analytics requests are sent by this site before that choice. You can withdraw permission using “Cookie preferences” in the footer; this disables further Analytics collection and removes accessible first-party _ga cookies set for this site.

When enabled, Google receives technical information such as browser/device data, the page path, referrer and network information needed to process the request. Analytics uses first-party cookies beginning with _ga to distinguish visits; our tag requests an expiry of 180 days. We remove query strings and URL fragments from the page location and referrer sent by our tag. We disable automatic capture of form interactions, search terms and outbound links. Advertising enquiry fields and shortlists are not included in Analytics events. The advertising event contains only the chosen channel (WhatsApp or email) and page path; it does not confirm that a message was sent in the other app. Banner events contain a campaign label, format, specific placement position and page path, without the full destination link.

Google signals and advertising personalisation signals are disabled in our tag. Advertising-related consent remains denied; this Analytics choice does not consent to Google advertising. Enquiries you choose to send

The advertising enquiry form prepares a draft on the page. Form details are not saved in browser storage or submitted to a website database. Choosing WhatsApp or email passes the brief to that service or app; you must send the message there to complete your enquiry.

Email and WhatsApp links open your chosen app or a third-party service. Nothing is sent until you complete and send the message there. The Web Makers LLC uses the contact details and information you provide to respond, investigate a correction, or discuss advertising. Those services also process messages under their own policies. Do not include passwords or identity documents.

Current advertising

Labelled house advertisements promote The Web Makers services through ordinary links. They do not load advertising-network tracking scripts. Other spaces invite sponsor enquiries. At this notice's revision date, the site does not load Google AdSense, affiliate tracking or personalised-ad scripts. Optional Google Analytics loads only with your permission.

If Google advertising is enabled

Google advertising is not active. Before it is enabled, this notice will be updated for the actual configuration. Google and advertising vendors may then use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including ads based on visits to this and other websites where permitted. The actual advertising setup must provide any required consent and withdrawal controls. A Google-certified consent-management platform must be configured before serving ads where Google's EEA, UK and Switzerland requirements apply. This disclosure does not replace those controls.

External services and photographs

Operator, tourism, map, sponsor and photo-credit links lead to websites with their own privacy policies. Opening a link sends a request to that service; we do not control its cookies, ticketing or data use. Photography sources and licences appear in the guides and on the photo credits page.
