Al Rabi Hiking Trail

Al Rabi is a marked mountain walk above Khorfakkan with Gulf of Oman views. The watchtower connects it with defensive history, while the ascent changes your perspective on coast, port and mountains. Calling it a beginner trail does not remove heat, uneven ground or the need for a comfortable descent.

Choose a turnaround point based on fitness and daylight rather than making the summit compulsory. The tourism authority notes limited parking near the start and spaces lower down, adding walking before the trail. Carry water, sun protection and suitable shoes, and remove packaging. Check weather and access notices; a route description cannot guarantee conditions. Leave energy and water for the way back.

The return route deserves as much planning as the climb. Downhill walking still needs footing and concentration, and the view is no reason to hurry past a comfortable stopping place. For inexperienced groups, agreeing in advance that anyone can turn back avoids turning a scenic walk into a summit obligation.
