THE EXPERIENCE
Discover Spice Souk
The Spice Souk is a Deira market near the Gold Souk, with traders selling spices, dried foods, teas and related products. It suits visitors interested in ingredients and trading atmosphere, even without a large shopping list. Look at how products are displayed and ask about an unfamiliar ingredient rather than treating the market only as a colour backdrop.
If buying, agree the quantity and unit price before the seller packs it. A small amount you understand how to use may be more useful than a large mixed purchase. Check labels and your destination’s food-import requirements independently before buying items to take home; market availability does not establish customs permission.
Keep browsing unhurried but purposeful, and decline politely when something does not interest you. The Gold Souk provides an easy thematic contrast nearby; crossing to Bur Dubai is a separate section of the outing. Individual shops can vary their hours, so do not build the day around one blanket timetable or assume samples are offered by every trader.
