THE EXPERIENCE
Discover Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary
Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary protects a wetland landscape within Dubai. Viewing takes place from designated bird hides, not by walking freely through the habitat. The municipality currently identifies Flamingo and Lagoon hides and marks Mangrove Hide temporarily closed; check the current access page before choosing your arrival pin.
Birdwatching rewards patience. Bring binoculars if you have them, keep conversation low and give other visitors room at the viewing windows. Flamingos are associated with the sanctuary, but a particular sighting or photograph cannot be guaranteed. The municipal guidance prohibits feeding, approaching or harming wildlife and entering fenced or signed restricted areas.
Choose this as a focused nature stop rather than a general picnic park. The hide rules restrict food, drinks, pets and phone use, so organise refreshments outside the observation session. Opening arrangements can change with conservation work and site management. Recheck the official visitor page rather than using an old reopening news story, whose health rules or timetable may no longer represent current arrangements.
