THE EXPERIENCE
Discover Al Zorah Nature Reserve
Al Zorah Nature Reserve offers a different view of Ajman from its urban beach and Corniche. Here the main landscape is a network of mangroves, lagoons and tidal channels north of the city. The attraction is the habitat itself, with birds and marine life using the sheltered coastal water.
The official tourism listing identifies flamingos, herons and egrets among the reserve's birdlife and recommends kayaking as a way to explore the channels. A worthwhile visit can centre on the roots, water movement and changing shoreline even when particular birds are absent.
Decide whether you want to observe the landscape from an authorised land-based location or book an organised water activity. For kayaking, the important details are the actual launch point, tide-related departure time and the operator's participant rules. A map pin for the wider Al Zorah development will not necessarily take you to the correct meeting place.
Keep the reserve separate in your plans from Al Zorah Golf Club and Marina 1. They share the surrounding destination, but a golf reservation, marina meal and mangrove excursion are different bookings. If combining them, anchor the day around the timed activity and leave the walk or meal flexible. Bring a way to protect your phone from splashes, follow the guide's route and avoid disturbing birds for a closer photograph.
