THE EXPERIENCE
Discover Cultural Foundation
Across from Qasr Al Hosn, the Cultural Foundation combines studio, exhibition and performance spaces. Its main theatre has 900 seats, while the Abu Dhabi Children's Library introduces a different kind of cultural activity through imaginative reading environments. The building supports working artists and readers as well as visitors.
A visit changes with the programme: a gallery browse, a children's reading session and an evening performance are three different ways to use the same cultural centre. General entry is complimentary according to the official tourism authority, while selected workshops and performances carry their own tickets. Families can focus on the Children's Library, whose reading areas reinterpret dunes and irrigation channels. Visitors needing assistance can ask the visitor-experience team about the available wheelchairs. Check what is happening on your date instead of treating the building as a fixed exhibition.
The fort and foundation can form a visit about continuity rather than a list of buildings. At one, the focus is historical material and inherited skills; at the other, artists and readers are creating culture now. Choose an exhibition or performance that lets that relationship develop instead of treating the centre as a corridor between stops.
