THE EXPERIENCE
Discover Corniche Beach
The boardwalk and beach serve different purposes along this stretch of coastline. Landscaped walkways invite movement past views of the Gulf, while designated sand sections provide the facilities and rules for a longer beach visit. The skyline behind them gives the setting its distinct urban character.
The Corniche promenade and the managed swimming beach serve different purposes. A waterside walk can be the whole outing, while a beach day requires choosing the right entrance and section for your group. The official guide distinguishes free Al Sahil access from other sections, so check the gate you intend to use before arranging drop-off. Views toward Lulu Island and the western waterfront make the shoreline interesting even if you do not swim. Follow the beach's lifeguards, flags and designated areas rather than judging conditions from photographs.
The city backdrop is part of what makes this shoreline distinctive. On a promenade walk, compare views toward the open water with views back toward the buildings. This creates a worthwhile outing for non-swimmers as well, while swimmers can choose the managed section that fits their group and current conditions.
